We've been thinking about wilderness areas thanks to our series of posts commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the Wilderness Act, so we wanted to bring you an excerpt from Beyond Naturalness: Rethinking Park and Wilderness Stewardship in an Era of Rapid Change, edited by David Cole and Laurie Yung.
